Description
This exotic fruit may come in oval to round shape with very prominent scales on its thick fleshy skin. It has a lovely pink or purple colour which makes it look exotic. The most interesting part about this fruit is that it grows on a cactus like climber. Its flesh may be purple, white or peach coloured .. Its scales appear like flame or fire due to which it has been named as Dragon fruit. It has small seeds inside its flesh which gives a distinct texture and a little bit of crunch while eating. You can eat it raw or create some homemade smoothies or oat meals with it.

Storage – Shelf Life
Store these fruits separately in a container or in a zipper bag and keep them refrigerated. This will help them last longer, around 10 to 14 days. They won’t last more than 5 to 7 days if kept outside. Hold the dragon fruit in your hand and press it slightly. If it presses easily and appears squishy, it is over ripened and should be consumed immediately, if not, it can be stored for a few days.
