Description
Guava ‘Amroodh’ is a tropical – subtropical fruit, native to Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, and northern South America. The fruit’s are round to slightly ovate in shape with an average 6-10 centimeters in diameter. They have a smooth green skin that ripens to a golden yellow with intermittent brown markings. The inner salmon pink flesh is semi-soft and holds small round yellowish seeds that may be removed but are often eaten whole. Pink guavas have a sweet musky fragrance. They have a moderate acidity and are very sweet; in fact, they are considered to be the sweetest of all the guava varieties.

Storage – Shelf Life
Ripe guavas can be stored in the refrigerator. However, the unripe ones can be kept at room temperature for ripening. Ripe guavas can be eaten fresh and are suitable for preparing smoothies, juices and desserts. The unripe or raw can added in salads with a pinch of black pepper and salt.
