Brown sugar (Cane)

It is prepared by extracting juice from sugarcane. The juice is then heated and purified to form a brown syrup which is centrifuged to convert it into small crystals of sugar. The molasses are present naturally in brown sugar which is responsible for it’s colour and taste. Brown sugar is really good for your baked goods as it retains more moisture which will make your cookies and cakes more fluffy. Brown sugar has a caramel-like flavour and gives a darker colour to the food prepared from it. Brown sugar is slightly less in calories and is marginally higher in iron, calcium and potassium contents as compared to white sugar.


Cane Jaggery block and powder

Popularly known as gur, jaggery has always been a part of our culinary culture. Many of our famous sweets like til ke laddu, gajak, chikki, modak, halwa etc. are made from jaggery. It is made from sugarcane juice itself. But it is much healthier than white sugar as it is the unrefined unprocessed form of cane juice. Jaggery is made by crystallizing sugarcane juice by traditional methods which retain it’s flavour and nutritional profile. The molasses enrich jaggery with protein, iron, manganese, magnesium, calcium, zinc, copper and vitamin B. Jaggery is also known for its medicinal properties, it increases haemoglobin levels and cures the common cold. Two forms of jaggery are available with us – Block and Powdered.


Palm Jaggery

Popularly known as karupatti in South India, this type of jaggery is made from palm trees. It is light yellow in colour and packs all the goodness of natural sweeteners in it. It is full of nutrients such as iron, magnesium, potassium, and calcium. Regular consumption keeps your digestive system healthy and happy. It is known for reducing bloating and for easing the symptoms of cough and cold.


Coconut sugar

Sugar made from coconut is a perfect replacement for refined sugars in your beverages like tea, coffee etc. Sugar is prepared by tapping coconut trees and cutting into it’s stem bearing flowers to extract nectar. The nectar is then mixed with water and boiled to form a syrup. This syrup is allowed to crystallise in the form of sugar granules.
